The Heart of the Matter homeschooling E-zine (found at www.heartofthematteronline.com)! I’m fortunate enough to be a part of this wonderful ministry which launches on Tuesday. I hope you’ll stop in and take a gander on the 8th when the whole ‘zine is unveiled!
I’ve had the opportunity to take a peek of some of the articles, and I must say, this thing is JAM-PACKED with good stuff! My contribution is on unschooling, which I feel a bit ill-equipped to write about.
It’s great to see how everyone approaches homeschooling. Very interesting!

Thanks for introducing me to this site! I stayed up most of the night reading (I only got 3 hours of sleep & am definitely paying for it today!) You’ve definitely opened my eyes to a whole new world–literally over night!

I found you through your article in the Heart of the Matter. You blew me away! I too am a home school graduate. I loved being home schooled, but am seeking a different approach than the ‘traditional.’ As of yet I hadn’t actually heard a definition of “unschooling”. Then I read your article. That is exactly what I want to do! Please, please let me pick your brain about what you re doing! I am currently trying to school my 6 yr old the ‘regular’ way. And I hate it! It just doesn’t’ work for us. But what DO you do? How to you make sure that they get the training they need, say for their state testing? What does your day look like? Do you make goals of things to expose them too? I loved the fact that you called your children munchkins, I didn’t’ know of anyone except my self who used that term!
